At the end of April, Roberto Bosco played with Ben Klock at Savana Potente in Turin, Italy. Being a huge success, pictures and video are starting to spill out from the party, and below is the first look - enjoy!
UR Wedding took a bit of a hiatus during the winter, but as of March 23rd will return on a weekly basis from Panke in Berlin. The club will host Mia Grobelny and Bleed every Wednesday, and as of mid-April the set will be back online, streaming both video and audio on its UStream channel.
Despite a studio flood and a hard drive crash, Mia has re-started from scratch with her live set and will continue to prepare it for a summer tour*. It hasn't been since 2008 that she performed with a live set that blew everyone away at the Bunker in New York. Her DJ sets are dark, heavy and powerful but her live sets are all her own; maintaining a distinctively soft, feminine tone atop sharp, angular rhythms.
One gem that did survive the crash was a beautiful cover of Brian Eno's "By This River." The original is delicate and patient, and the updated version is much more heartbreaking. Created entirely with analogue about seven years ago, Mia used an Oberheim Matrix 12 and Roland 2h 5 synthesizers along with a Lomox drum machine. Paired with her voice, which is usually icy and whispery on her original productions, her version of "By This River" is warm and pleading.
*Currently booking for live sets for summer 2011. DJ sets are also available. Please contact email@example.com for more details. This artist is currently based in Berlin.
Roberto Bosco will be a part of this new compilation on Cratesavers International, along with Scan 7. For more information, please visit TBPT's Facebook page.
Roberto Bosco has had quite a year, and while he prepares for bigger and better things in 2011 we've got footage from his recent gig in Torino. After playing Berghain (twice), Rex Club, WMC (Miami) and various other hot spots in Europe, we are currently booking dates for late winter and spring 2011. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any inquiries.
Bonus: Check out Roberto's 'Hong Kong' release on Snapshot, featuring remixes by Elliot Dodge, Claudio Mate and Rennie Foster.
There's no doubt that Chris Liebing is a true professional, and this year he's celebrating the 10th anniversary of CLR. One of the best podcasts out there, it's also his label and general branding tool. You can read more about that here, but in the meantime, check out the clip below where he played Roberto Bosco's "Circle Dub (Dub Tool)" (from Len Faki's Figure series) at Germany's Time Warp festival in late March.
Roberto's productions - which have been released on a handful of reputable labels that include Night Vision, Be As One, Figure and Wave Music...to name a few - have been making their way onto a large variety of DJ mixes and recorded sets this year, and his own style as a DJ has been growing at an alarmingly passionate rate.
His most recent mix is a fierce blend of deep, soulful techno and throbbing, industrial influence. It's also a great mash-up of his talent as the creator and the mixer.
