Entries in Francois K (99)
The Museum of Modern Art in New York has had a busy week with the Kraftwerk Retrospective. Consisting of eight consecutive nights of performances spanning the entirety of Kraftwerk's legendary long-player career, MoMa and its well-known summer Warm Up series curated an extension of events at PS1. The Kraftwerk Music Festival is a tribute to Kraftwerk from some of the most connected, relevant and influenced artists in their cannon.
This past weekend, Juan Atkins kicked off Saturday's events with a special set in the dome at PS1. Sunday was Francois K, who did an all-Kraftwerk set, and was also joined by founding member and vocalist Ralf Hutter on stage. There is also some excellent coverage at Brooklyn Vegan from Sunday's perfromance.
In addition to last weekend's festivities, this upcoming one will see another round of the Kraftwerk Music Festival. Coinciding with Greg Wilson's first US tour since early last year, he will kick it off at PS1 on Sunday, April 22nd in the dome. Greg will play from 4pm - 7pm, and tickets are available via MoMa's website.
