D-Node 118 : Droid Behavior Podcast By Roberto Bosco

Roberto Bosco also hit hard last week with a new podcast for Droid Behavior in Los Angeles. D-Node 118 is part of a mix series by the West coast powerhouse that has brought the talents of Dustin Zahn, Jonas Kopp and Taimur Agha of Blkmarket in the recent past. Starting off with Paperclip People's Basic Channel reshape and straight into Gys' "Beep" from Zer0gsounds, it goes on to show a deep, dubbier side of Bosco, who is known more and more for his versatility as a producer, remixer and DJ.

CHRIS LEIBING PLAYS ROBERTO BOSCO @ TIME WARP FESTIVAL + NEW MIX

There's no doubt that Chris Liebing is a true professional, and this year he's celebrating the 10th anniversary of CLR. One of the best podcasts out there, it's also his label and general branding tool. You can read more about that here, but in the meantime, check out the clip below where he played Roberto Bosco's "Circle Dub (Dub Tool)" (from Len Faki's Figure series) at Germany's Time Warp festival in late March.

Roberto's productions - which have been released on a handful of reputable labels that include Night Vision, Be As One, Figure and Wave Music...to name a few - have been making their way onto a large variety of DJ mixes and recorded sets this year, and his own style as a DJ has been growing at an alarmingly passionate rate.

His most recent mix is a fierce blend of deep, soulful techno and throbbing, industrial influence. It's also a great mash-up of his talent as the creator and the mixer.

Roberto Bosco In the New 'Graphite North' Mix Series

Two of Roberto Bosco's tracks from his Mowar release, which features a remix by Matt O'Brien (Rekids), are included in an exciting new mix series. The first installment also includes tracks by EQD (Shed), Function, Andy Stott, Nine Inch Nails, Cio D'or, Burial and Mount Kimbie.

The popular blog mnml ssgs says that "one trend in 2009 [it] had a big problem with was the flood of podcasts. It seemed like every week a new podcast was appearing. Of course, some have been good and have contributed to some great mixes appearing, but the majority of these new 'casts just seemed to lack much purpose beyond either basic promotion or a feeling that an artist/label/blogger etc. should have a podcast series."

Amen! Two new mix series are mentioned, "both which have really well-defined and worthwhile concepts," mnml added. "Thought has gone into these, and I have the hope/feeling they could be very worthwhile."

The Graphite North series promotes anonymity in its series, and allows the selected music to sit at the forefront. "Each volume will be mixed by someone you might recognize, but rather than reveal who, we're sticking to revealing only the names of the tracks and artists on the mix, as such, all of the DJs making these mixes will be our unseen selectors, taking you on a journey through some of the most sought after techno in the world right now."
